Where are you based, and do you travel?

I'm based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and I travel throughout North Idaho and Eastern Washington for sessions.

Included travel (no extra charge): Sessions within a 30-minute drive of Coeur d'Alene. This covers Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, Hayden Lake, Dalton Gardens, Rathdrum, Stateline, Liberty Lake, Spokane Valley, and the surrounding area.

Extended travel: I'm also available for sessions in Spokane, Athol, Spirit Lake, Sandpoint, Cheney, Deer Park, Medical Lake, Priest River, Kellogg, Bayview, Bonners Ferry, Moscow, Pullman, and beyond. A travel fee is added to your quote based on Google Maps drive time from Coeur d'Alene:

  • 30–45 min: $25
  • 46–60 min: $50
  • 61–75 min: $75
  • 76–90 min: $100
  • Beyond 91 min: Quoted per trip

Drive time is calculated using Google Maps for your session date and start time, so your exact travel fee is locked in before you sign — no surprises. Not sure if you're in range? Just mention your location in your inquiry and I'll confirm.

How does payment work?

To secure your date, a non-refundable 25% retainer is due when you sign your contract, paid securely through your HoneyBook client portal (credit/debit card or bank transfer). The remaining balance is due on or before your session date by cash or check. If it's easier for you, you can also pay the balance through your HoneyBook portal.

What's your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Life happens, and I'll always do my best to work with you when it does — especially with a bit of notice.

  • 14+ days before your session: Reschedule freely within 90 days — your retainer carries over to the new date. If you cancel outright, the 25% retainer is non-refundable.
  • 48 hours to 14 days before: A 50% session fee applies for cancellations or last-minute reschedules, since your date has been reserved and other bookings turned away.
  • Within 48 hours or no-show: The full session fee is due.
  • Weather: Outdoor sessions are rescheduled at no extra cost if the weather is unsafe or uncooperative.
  • If I have to cancel: You'll receive a full refund, including the retainer.

Full Photo Sessions

How long is a typical portrait session?

Professional headshot sessions are 20 minutes. For Full Photo Sessions — family portraits, engagements, senior portraits, and milestone memories — plan on up to 90 minutes. I build in that window on purpose, so we have time to work with changing light, let little ones catch their breath, and make sure you leave with every shot you were hoping for without anything feeling rushed.

What should we wear?

My goal is to help you create portraits you'll still love decades from now — timeless, warm, and true to your family. After you book, I'll send you my wardrobe guide, which walks you through colors, fabrics, and styling tips.

A few quick guidelines I share with every client:

  • Coordinate, not match. Complementary tones read better than identical outfits.
  • Lean into: Warm earthy neutrals, soft seasonal tones, and fabrics with texture.
  • Gently steer away from: Neon colors, all-black or all-white outfits, loud clashing colors, and large logos or graphic text.

Plan to arrive dressed and camera-ready — your session time is reserved for shooting, not outfit changes. And if you've got little ones: laying out everyone's outfits the night before is a game-changer.

How many edited photos will I receive?

Plenty. For a Full Photo Session, you can count on at least 75 professionally edited high-resolution images — often noticeably more. I don't believe in holding photos back or nickel-and-diming the session you already paid for, so you get the whole story of your time together, not just the "highlights."

Professional headshot sessions deliver three polished final images: a classic headshot, a full-body, and an in-action shot.

Everything comes to you through a private, password-protected online gallery where you can download your high-resolution files anytime during your gallery access window.

Do I have to pay extra for prints or file rights?

No — and this is something I feel strongly about.

Your photos belong to you. I'm there to capture and serve, not to gatekeep the memories you hired me to create. That means your session fee includes full personal-use rights: high-resolution downloads, printing wherever you want, sharing freely with family, and posting on your personal social media. No proofing fees, no required print packages, no watermarked previews, no "unlock" charges.

If you'd like beautiful gallery-quality prints, I've worked with and trusted the same professional lab for over 13 years and will gladly connect you — but it's never a requirement. Your photos, your choice.

When will my photos be ready?

Good things take a little time. For Full Photo Sessions, you can expect your fully edited gallery within 3–4 weeks of your session date. Professional Headshot galleries are typically ready within 1–2 weeks.

When your gallery is ready, you'll get an email with your password and a link to access it. The gallery stays open for 30 days — more than enough time to download everything in high resolution, share with family, and place any print orders you'd like. You'll also get reminder emails as your gallery window is winding down, so you won't be caught off guard.

Professional Headshots

What's included in the Professional headshot session?

Whether you're refreshing your LinkedIn, launching a new website, or polishing up your professional brand, the Professional headshot session is designed to be quick, focused, and high-impact.

The 20-minute session delivers three professionally edited high-resolution images: a classic headshot, a full-body, and an in-action shot. Your images come with usage rights for business and personal branding — LinkedIn, your company site, professional bios, and the like — and your gallery is typically ready within 1–2 weeks.

You're welcome to bring one outfit change if you'd like some professional variety across your shots. Investment is $200.

Where do we shoot the headshots?

Wherever works best for the look you're after. Your office or workplace is a great choice if you want consistent branding. Outdoor locations around Coeur d'Alene — downtown, parks, or the waterfront — offer a more natural, approachable feel. And if you already have a location in mind, we'll make it happen.

If you're not sure where to shoot, just let me know in your inquiry and I'll recommend options that fit your industry and the vibe you're going for. Travel within 30 minutes of Coeur d'Alene is included; beyond that, travel fees apply as outlined above.

Product Photography

How does pricing work for product photography?

Product photography is priced per project because scope varies widely. Some projects are a handful of SKUs for an online store; others are ongoing catalog or branding work. For very small jobs (one or two simple products for personal use), a standard session package may be a better fit. For business-focused product work, pricing is quoted per project based on your scope.

When you inquire, it helps to include:

  • How many products you need photographed
  • What you'll use the images for (e-commerce, print, advertising, social media, etc.)
  • Whether you need straight product shots, 360° views, or lifestyle/in-use imagery
  • Your timeline

I'll get back to you with a quote that fits your scope — no inflated estimates, no surprise fees.

Can you photograph larger or specialty products?

Yes — and the size range I can handle is wider than most local studios. Using my macro lens setup and Lumicube controlled-lighting box, I can capture items as small as a wedding ring or a hanging necklace in fine detail. On the other end, my heavy-duty turntable rig supports products up to 400 pounds and 36–40 inches wide — canoes, kayaks, bikes, scooters, motors, tires and rims, large machinery, furniture, outdoor gear, and similar oversized items.

What I'm equipped for:

  • 360° product spins and video using a professional Iconasys turntable system — ideal for e-commerce listings (Amazon, Shopify, your own site) and product launches
  • Controlled-lighting studio stills for clean, color-accurate product imagery
  • Macro detail work for small-format products — jewelry, hardware, components, anything where detail matters
  • Large and heavy-product imagery that's typically too big or awkward for standard product studios

Well-suited for e-commerce brands, furniture makers, manufacturers, gunsmiths, outdoor gear companies, jewelers, and any business with products that don't fit standard product-studio setups. If you've struggled to find someone who can photograph what you're selling — that's exactly when to reach out.

What's the process for a product photography project?

Because every product photography project is scoped differently, the process is defined together based on what your project needs. In broad strokes, here's how it typically flows:

  • You inquire — share the product details, intended use of images, and timeline (see the pricing question above for what's helpful to include).
  • We talk through the scope — by email or quick call, depending on the complexity. This is where we figure out shot count, style, deliverables, and timeline.
  • You receive a project proposal and contract — outlining scope, pricing, deliverables, and rights.
  • A 50% retainer secures your project on the calendar.
  • The shoot happens — products are typically shipped to me for studio work, though on-location shoots can be discussed if the product warrants it.
  • You receive your edited images through a private gallery, with one round of revisions included. Additional revisions beyond that can be added at an additional fee.

Every project is custom, so the actual shape of this varies — but that's the general arc.
